President Maduro supports Pope Francis’ call for the union of Venezuelans

On the eve of the beatification of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, President Nicolás Maduro ratified his support for the message of union of all Venezuelans, expressed by Pope Francis “as a call to spiritual union in Christ, to reconciliation and to that together, we join hands to recover and achieve the rebirth of Venezuela”.

During the commemorative day for the tenth anniversary of the Gran Misión Vivienda venezuela (Great Mission Housing Venezuela), President Maduro thanked Pope Francis for his message of love, peace and reconciliation towards Venezuela.

Referring to the video message sent by Pope Francis to the Venezuelan people, regarding the beatification of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, scheduled for this Friday, April 30, he invited the Venezuelan people to join in prayer, and from each home, join to the acts on the occasion of the beatification of the distinguished Doctor from Trujillo state, Dr. José Gregorio Hernández.

It is worth noting that the Supreme Pontiff said this Thursday that the beatification “is a special blessing of God for Venezuela” and invited “the conversion towards greater solidarity with each other, to produce among all the response of the common good so much needed so that the country revives, is reborn after the pandemic, with a spirit of reconciliation and I ask the Lord that no intervention from abroad will prevent them from walking this path of national unity”.

In this way, Pope Francis expressed his desire to visit Venezuela and accompany him in the reconciliation process. “How I wish I could visit them to at least signify my accompaniment on this path,” he said.

Finally, he affirmed that the long-awaited beatification of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández confirms the firm belief of Venezuelans that “the people’s doctor is with God, and that together with Our Lady of Coromoto intercedes for his nationals and for all of us.”

The Venezuelan people will celebrate this Friday, with great devotion and joy, the beatification of the Doctor of the Poor, a day of union and reconciliation that has been declared by the AN as a National Day of Jubilee due to its high significance for the entire country.
