Despite the recrudescence of the multiform aggressions to which Venezuela was subjected in 2020, the country managed to advance in health prevention by registering a control of Covid-19 against countries that attack the national economy:
«Despite the economic asphyxia, Venezuela has emerged victorious against the Covid-19 pandemic, compared to the countries that attack us», said the Vice-President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, during the presentation of the Annual Report and Account of her administration, consigned this Tuesday before the National Assembly (AN).
She highlighted the cases of coronavirus detected per million in the country, which in 2020 were 3,785, a figure that contrasts with the statistics of the United States (U.S.), the main aggressor of the nation, which accounts for 78,279 contagions the previous year.
She also mentioned Colombia, a country from where have been planned assassinations and incursions against Venezuela. In the nation governed by President Iván Duque, 39,877 cases have been detected. She also mentioned Brazil, a country that also promotes interference policies towards the Venezuelan government. There, the head of state, Jair Bolsonaro, has not been able to deal with the expansion of the pandemic, which in 2020 caused 41,873 cases.
In terms of deaths per million inhabitants, Venezuela counted 41 deaths, in contrast to the U.S., which recorded 1,319 deaths; Colombia, which witnessed 1,108 deaths; and Brazil, where there were 1,026 fatal cases.
«This is the result of a people that defends itself, resists and fights with strength», emphasized the Executive Vice-President.
