Unloaded 90,000 tons of raw materials in La Guaira and Puerto Cabello


The Minister of People’s Power for Alimentation, Rodolfo Marco Torres, announced on Monday that at the ports of La Guaira and Puerto Cabello, are already being unloaded 30 tons of Paddy rice, 30,000 soybean cakes for balanced meals and 30,000 more of durum wheat, for a total of 90,000 tons of raw materials for production.
Similarly, he said that are already in transit to arrive in this week, 30,000 tons of wheat, which along with the 76,000 that are already in the country, would total 106,000 tons to supply the 10,000 bakeries that operate throughout the national territory, allowing them to work the entire months of March and April this year.
In addition, Marco Torres explained that soon will arrive 60,000 tons of paddy rice, 30,000 of durum wheat, 60,000 of yellow corn and 30,000 of white corn.
“With 210,000 tons of items in transit and 90,000 being downloaded, we guarantee 300,000 tons of raw material, which along with the private and public sector, will provide the agribusiness sector for food processing”, said the minister from the Miraflores Palace, while reporting that have been settled so far, 27 million dollars to bring seeds for the next planting season.
