Venezuela registers 177 new infections of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, 164 of community transmission and 13 imported cases, announced the sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez.
From his Twitter account @luchaalmada, he reported that «the community cases are distributed as follows: Capital District 47, Miranda 30, Zulia 20, Trujillo 15, Yaracuy 14, Falcón 12, Táchira 6, La Guaira 6, Guárico 5, Monagas 3, Mérida 2, Sucre 2, Apure 1, Cojedes 1».
He highlighted that the «Capital District is the entity with the highest number of infections in 15 of its parishes: Sucre 6, Caricuao 5, San Pedro 5, San José 4, El Valle 4, San Juan 3, La Candelaria 3, El Paraíso 3, El Recreo 3, El Junquito 2, among others».
In turn, he pointed out that the 13 imported cases came from Mexico in their entirety, with entry through the state of La Guaira, being 6 women and 7 men.
The also Minister for Communication and Information, reported that in 295 days of the pandemic in Venezuela, 114,407 cases have been confirmed, of which 108,468 people have been successfully recovered, representing a 95% recovery rate of infections.
There are currently 4,901 active cases in the national territory, of which 4,575 are being treated within the public health system, 16 in private clinics and 310 in home isolation.
He also explained that «2,913 patients are asymptomatic, 1,627 with mild Acute Respiratory Failure, 281 with Moderate Acute Respiratory Failure and 80 in the intensive care units.»
Ñáñez lamented the death of 3 new Venezuelans due to this virus: 2 men aged 71 and 53 years from Lara state, and 1 woman aged 72 years from Trujillo state. «Condolences to their families and loved ones,» he wrote.
Finally, he stressed that the country has carried out 2,419,991 tests to date, which represents 80,666 tests per million inhabitants.
