President Maduro ordered activation of Republic Plan for elections to the ANC

The President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Nicolás Maduro, informed on Wednesday that he ordered to activate the Republic Plan in order to ensure due electoral process for the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), scheduled for next July 30.

“I have given the orders to General Padrino Lopez, Minister for Defense, to activate the Republic Plan for the 2017 Constitutional election process”, said the President during an event from Fort Tiuna, where he gave credit loans to participants in the “Soy Joven” (I’m Young) Program.

The President denounced that some extremist sectors of the opposition have announced that they intend to sabotage the electoral process.

“If you, on Election Day, go to the polling station and cause a riot, you’ll be arrested (…) Thus say the laws (..) but what is even more serious is that some spokesmen of the right wing have said that they will sabotage the Voting centers, the Voting stations on July 30, that is a crime in flagrante delicto, and it must be timely punished”, he said.

The Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, said that despite attacks by fascist sectors, no one will prevent the people from voting peacefully on July 30 in the elections for the National Constituent Assembly.
