First 50 Covid-19 patients are received at field hospital in El Poliedro

The first 50 Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms or asymptomatic were received at the intermediate field hospital in El Poliedro in, Caracas to receive the necessary medical care.

This was confirmed by the mayor of Caracas, Érika Farías, this Sunday, in a contact from El Poliedro with the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, who conducts a health work journey from the Aquiles Nazoa Cultural Center in Caracas.

This fully equipped care center in El Poliedro is made up of a set of tents, with the capacity to serve 1,200 asymptomatic people, with mild symptoms of the virus or who tested positive after a rapid test, which makes it the largest health center the country has to attend to those infected by the outbreak.

This health center has trauma shock units, mobile X-ray units; in addition to 13 ambulances that will be enabled to transfer patients.

In there will work 50 health professionals alongside officials of Protection, firefighters, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and other brigade members of Chamba Juvenil and Somos Venezuela movements, for a total of 276 people.

Farías explained that there are 46 Barrio Adentro integral community health areas to welcome these patients.

Likewise, she announced that as of this Monday, 600 more capacities will be available in four Mission Bases in Caracas and also in the Naciones Unidas Park, in El Paraíso, 300 more capacities will be activated as of this Tuesday.

All this adds to the 60 hotels enabled to serve asymptomatic or suspected Covid-19 patients.

The President appreciated the logistical effort made to concrete all these healthcare centers.
