Venezuela stretches ties with Supreme Court of Justice of Russia

On Wednesday, the President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Judge Maikel Moreno, held a meeting with the Vice-President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Russia, Judge Pyotr Serkov, in order to strengthen strategic ties of cooperation and brotherhood between the Judicial Powers of both nations.

During the meeting, the President of the TSJ told the Russian jurist his intention to visit him in response to their request to exchange judicial experiences. In addition, they addressed different issues, including general aspects of the Venezuelan legal framework, as well as the characteristics and the functioning of the Judicial Branch.

At the meeting, Judge Maikel Moreno was accompanied by the first Vice-President of the Venezuelan Supreme Court, Judge Indira Alfonzo Izaguirre; the president of the Civil Cassation Chamber, magistrate Yván Darío Bastardo Flores; the Executive Director of the Judiciary Power, Dr. Jesse Arias, and a delegation from the Venezuelan Embassy in China.

The meeting was held as part of the visit to China by the magistrate, where he opened the Global Judicial Platform “Global China Law”, he intervened as speaker at the International Judicial Cooperation Forum of the Silk Road in Dunhuang, signed a memorandum of understanding with his Chinese counterpart, Mr. Zhou Qiang, has held meetings with different judicial authorities from other nations, among other activities.
