Maduro's letter sent to Bachelet gathers the concerns of the Venezuelan people

The Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, said on Monday that the letter sent last July 8 by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, reflects the concerns of the Venezuelan people about the report presented by the international organization:
“The response of Nicolás Maduro as head of state gathers the concerns of many people. We have been receiving a lot of opinions, dislikes, people who disagree against a report, which they call infamous, that makes them invisible, that blurs, after they had the opportunity to talk with the team. It left a report which was too biased, with many deficiencies, with many inconsistencies”, said Ruiz in an interview on the “360” program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
In this sense, Ruiz said that the main denounce made by the Venezuelan people against Bachelet’s report, is directed to the omission of the consequences of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States (USA) against Venezuela, which hinders the access for the purchase of medical supplies and food to serve the people.
In the letter, the Venezuelan head of state said that the report has a content that is “deeply damaging to the dignity of the Venezuelan people and the truth of the human rights situation in Venezuela. Unfortunately it is obvious that you did not listen to Venezuela”.
“You have presented a report full of false statements, misrepresentations and manipulations in the use of data and sources; a report lacking balance and rigor, openly biased that – while presenting a distorted picture of the human rights situation in our country – does not include the information and data provided by the State but by harsh media matrices imposed by the communicational hegemony imperial”, says the letter, read by the ambassador of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Jorge Valero, last Friday.
On the other hand, the Ombudsman expressed the importance of a national dialogue between the National Government and the opposition sectors, because “only through dialogue can one seek to resolve these economic issues that are extremely important and that are pressing the economy of the Venezuelan family, but also to reach agreements, consensus to advance the issue of human rights. We can only do that through dialogue, recognizing all people”.
