Venezuela expresses its strong rejection of the new acts of aggression by the United States government against the peoples of Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela by launching extraterritorial judicialization mechanisms against entities that have invested in Cuba.

“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its strongest rejection of the new acts of obsessive joint aggression and economic warfare of the United States government against the peoples of the Republic of Cuba, Nicaragua and the Venezuelan people. This time under threat to launch illegal mechanisms of extraterritorial judicialization, aimed at retaliating those entities that have arranged to make foreign direct investment in Cuba.
As announced by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the entry into force of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, on May 2, is a reinforcement of the criminal blockade that has damaged sovereignty and the human rights of the Cuban people, which has been condemned year after year by overwhelming vote in the General Assembly of the United Nations.
This political decision, covered by a fraudulent nature of a legal instrument, constitutes a legal aberration that seeks to extend the extraterritoriality of illegal unilateral measures, affecting Cuba and third countries, in a new flagrant violation of International Law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The announcement is made on the anniversary of the invasion of Playa Girón, revealing the revanchist character of the supremacist dome that governs the United States, which, in connivance with the Cuban-American mafia lobby, intends to take a leap backwards in the history and reinstate the terrible era of opprobrium and exploitation of the pro-imperialist dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista, for which they add to this unfortunate announcement the threat of restoring restrictions on US citizenship to travel and send remittances to Cuba.
The People and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela express their firm support and active solidarity to the Cuban people and government, with the conviction that the United States will fail once again in its attempt to subdue the dignified, sovereign and victorious Republic of Cuba.
As in Playa Girón, once again US imperialism will be defeated by the unity, conscience and patriotism of the people of Cuba, guided by the immortal legacy of José Martí and Fidel Castro.
Venezuela will continue to exercise the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace to demand the cessation of unilateral coercive measures as an instrument of colonial domination, in defense of the independence and self-determination of peoples, vying for the triumph of multilateralism and international law”.
