Venezuela will request to the UN 500 million dollars to support Vuelta a la Patria Plan

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, explained that is going to request to the United Nations Organization (UN) the sum of 500 million dollars to support the Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland) Plan to support immigrants from Colombia and of other nationalities, who live in Venezuela.

In a meeting with the migrants of the country, the Head of State stressed: “The situation in Colombia is a serious one, I have a report that was made to Iván Duque, president of Colombia, two weeks ago; the situation is disastrous, the fiscal and budgetary situation is unbearable, in Colombia is being prepared a neoliberal package, so let’s prepare to receive even more Colombians”, he said.

He explained that in the world there is a kind of fashion to talk about the Venezuelan migration to some countries of the region: “The Venezuelan migrants depart selling everything, they depart with money to maintain themselves while they get a job, they go and are being duped abroad”, he explained.

“More than 6,000 Venezuelans have returned with this plan, they are registered in the embassies, almost 20,000 more compatriots (…) of those 500 million dollars we are going to allocate some to support the Colombian, Peruvian, and Ecuadorian migrants who live here”, he said.

He asked himself why the Colombian Government cares about the migrants from Venezuela and not about the Colombians who are migrants around the world, or those who live in the Neo-Granadine country, he concluded.
