Cabello: The bourgeoisie that showed its sinister face 17 years ago is the same of today

“Just 17 years ago the bourgeoisie showed its most sinister face, full of hatred, full of evil, today they are the same ones, who try to subdue our people; they should know this: They will not come back”, said on Thursday the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello, on his Twitter account.
With this message, the revolutionary leader recalled the coup d’état of April 11, 2002 against Commander Hugo Chávez, and stressed that the Bolivarian Revolution will continue to conquer.
After that on April 11, 2002, owners of private media, journalists linked to the opposition, hierarchs of the Catholic Church, coup-plotting military, right-wing politicians with the support of the United States, strike a coup against the constitutional president Hugo Chávez, the revolutionary people remained standing in the streets, in front of Fort Tiuna and, among other places, in the surroundings of Miraflores Palace, demanding the return of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, an action that was concrete on April 13.
On April 12, 2002, after promoting and leading a coup d’état, Pedro Carmona proclaimed himself as President of the Republic, repealed the Constitution and dissolved the powers. Before midnight due to the pressure of the people, the businessman resigns and flees, culminating his dictatorial mandate of 48 hours.
After the return of the constitutional thread, the then vice president of the Republic, Diosdado Cabello, was sworn in as provisional president, while the return of the head of state, Hugo Chávez, was taking place.
In the early hours of April 14 the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution returned to Miraflores Palace acclaimed by the people, who did not move from the Palace and who cried and shouted with emotion when they saw him, as recalls the book “La Revolución en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, Volume II” (Revolution in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Vol. II), edited by the Ministry for Communication and Information:
“In a simple act was made the signing of decree number 1.743, by which the interim President, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, hands over to the Constitutional President, Hugo Chávez,” recalls the text.
