The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro said that Venezuela assumes with chivalry and love for the Big Homeland the reins of the Union of South American Nations as its pro-tempore president, which was designated on Saturday at the headquarters of the multilateral organization in Quito, Ecuador.
«From here we will continue with the efforts to turn into reality the dream of our liberators, turning the region into a genuine area of organization and integration,» he wrote via his official page on the Facebook social network.
He pledged to continue with determination the example inculcated by the great founders of this organization, Hugo Chavez and Néstor Kirchner.
