In face of absolute vacancy! Will repeat elections for governorship of Zulia

The election to choose the governor of Zulia will be held in December, after Juan Pablo Guanipa refused to be sworn before the National Constituent Assembly and declared the absolute vacancy in office.

The decision was taken by the plenipotentiary body on Thursday, after discussing the proposal made by the Constituent Hermann Escarrá, after declaring the vacancy of the governorship of the entity that had been won by the right wing’s candidate Juan Pablo Guanipa.

In his speech, the constituent explained that since the same Guanipa refused to be sworn in before the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), incurs a constant attitude so it is unequivocal to call for new elections in the entity.

“Whoever participated in this process that obeys the extraordinary legislation, knew that he had to be subordinate to this ANC, but even beyond theoretical considerations is rule 347, 348 and 349 and 349 of the Constitution is blunt when he states that constituted power cannot object to the actions of the Constituent power, is a mandate that we will enforce”, said the constituent.

Lawyer Escarrá proposed the repetition of the elections in Zulia state to be held simultaneously with the municipal elections, stipulated to be held in December.
