From the Integral Defense Operational Zone in Falcón state, General in Chief Domingo Antonio Hernández Lárez, Strategic Operational Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), offered statements on the seizure of more than 2 tons of illicit substances, such as marijuana and cocaine.
Hernández Lárez indicated that as part of Operation «Cacique Manaure 2022», 4.5 nautical miles, north of the coast of the «Puerto Escondido» sector of Cabo San Román, in Falcón state, was observed a boat-type vessel that upon being inspected yielded the following results: 121 packages containing 856,850 kilograms of marijuana distributed in 5,063 blocks, 7,700 kg of cocaine in seven blocks, a peñero-type boat with seven 200 HP outboard motors, two Garmin navigation GPS, an Iridiun satellite phone, cell phones, a radio transmitter, a radio charger, three wallets with personal documents, 33 cans of gasoline-type fuel.
He also pointed out that 12 Venezuelan citizens were apprehended during this procedure.
The CEOFANB commander highlighted that from 2021 to this September, 28,281.30 kg of drugs were seized in various procedures and 36,527.98 kg of narcotics in what corresponds to 2022 up to the present month, obtaining an increase in seizures of 29% compared to 2021.
He also highlighted that this confiscation was carried out in perfect civic-military police union, in which all state institutions are facing illegal actions.
On the other hand, he emphasized that currently the Bolivarian National Armed Forces has carried out eight military operations throughout the cross-border axis to expel terrorist subjects who intend to destabilize the nation.
