The only way to strengthen peace is through the Constituent Assembly

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said on Thursday that the only way to consolidate peace and stability of the Republic is through the National Constituent Assembly, whose members will be elected next July 30 through a universal, direct and secret vote.

“We want peace, prosperity, work, education. Peace with love, with equality, and the only way to obtain that peace, has a name and surname and is the National Constituent Assembly”, said the Head of State in a joint radio and television broadcast during the inauguration ceremony of the Robinsonian School, located in Catia, Caracas.

In this sense, he urged the People’s Power and state security agencies to join forces to stop the violent actions perpetrated by extremist sectors of the opposition in recent months, which has left several people injured and killed, as well as damages to public and private property.

The most recent events occurred on Monday, when the headquarters of the Ministry for People’s Power for Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace, and the Supreme Court of Justice, were the target of a terrorist act from a helicopter, stolen and piloted by Oscar Alberto Perez, who has ties to the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and ties with a former Venezuelan minister who confessed to have ties with the US secret agency.
