Alert against hostile media against Venezuela ahead of OAS meeting

It is important for the people to know that the Venezuelan delegation found a very hostile media environment in the framework of the Organization of American States (OAS) meeting in Cancun, Mexico.

The information was released on Monday by the Vice Minister for International Communication, William Castillo, who stressed that there is a kind of vacuum in matters of security and care for the Venezuelan diplomats.

The diplomat said that the complaints are also repeated in some other delegations in Latin America, but are more accentuated in particular with the treatment that has received the Venezuelan diplomatic body.

“We are alerting on the development of an aggressive strategy against the diplomatic corps that is waging a battle for dignity in Cancun”, said Castillo.

The Government of Venezuela presented on Monday 10 draft resolutions to the OAS in which it proposes the institution to reject interference and address the real needs of the continent, among other aspects.

“We come here to leave an agenda, an agenda of the Peoples, an agenda that ratifies the real discussions that the OAS must give beyond their plans to intervene, to undermine the Venezuelan democracy, a solid democracy, a popular democracy”, said the high official.
