This was reported by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during a Council of Ministers held at Miraflores Palace.
The Head of State claimed to have data and evidence of how from the US Department of State. the Venezuelan opposition is being pressured not to sign the agreement that was discussed and pre-agreed more than a week ago and reiterated on Monday.
He denounced that this strategy is aimed at sabotaging the Venezuelan electoral process.
«I hope and hope that the minutes and hours that are to come, will reach an agreement in the Dominican Republic. And I reaffirm that the Bolivarian Government is ready to sign all the pre-agreed points, sufficiently discussed and that we go to a peace process, cooperation for economic recovery, defense of sovereignty and against sanctions and international aggressions», he said.
He thanked Deputy Julio Borges for being present at the dialogue table in the Dominican Republic, despite the differences that exist, as well as Manuel Rosales, the representative of (rightwing) AD àrty, the President of the Dominican Republic, Danilo Medina, the Spanish former president, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, and the Chancellors who accompany the process.
He reiterated that he has instructed the head of the delegation of the Bolivarian Government at the dialogue table, Jorge Rodríguez, to persevere in the will and to sign the agreement that the Venezuelan people aspire to.
