Venezuela is an example to the world on how to face the pandemic

The first vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, called for maintaining the social quarantine in a responsible way to overcome the threat of Covid-19.

In his speech, Cabello said: “Let’s not neglect the quarantine, we cannot let go, until now we are setting an example to the world on how to face the pandemic, and remember, quarantine is not a vacation, be always warned, be always on alert”.

Since the first positive cases of coronavirus were registered in the country, the National Government has taken a series of radical measures to stop the spread of the virus. These included the cancellation of international flights from Europe, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, the closure of borders, the suspension of academic activities at all levels and the activation of social quarantine throughout the national territory.

As for the provisions taken to protect the Venezuelan people, the executive suspended for six months the payment of rent for commercial premises and homes, as well as the payment of services such as water, electricity, and telephone.
