President Maduro participated in the NAM Ministerial Meeting


The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, attended this Saturday the Ministerial Meeting of the Movement Coordination Bureau of Non-Aligned Countries (NAM), held from the Venetur Alba Caracas Hotel, in Caracas.
The activity, which brings together more than 110 member states of the Movement, is a preparatory meeting for the Baku Summit, to be held next October and in which Venezuela will hand over the presidency to Azerbaijan.
Under the slogan “Promotion and Consolidation of Peace through Respect for International Law” is developed this forum in which, from the early hours of the morning, different countries have established a position regarding the respect for international law and the self-determination of peoples.
In that context, the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, repudiated the constant attacks carried out by the United States (US) Government against Cuba “through the resurgence of the blockade”, which it considered as a violation to International Law, while denouncing the unilateral sanctions of which the Government and the people of Venezuela are victims.
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela continues to face an escalation of economic sanctions and other hostile and illegal acts that affect the welfare of the Venezuelan people”, he said.
Likewise, the Nicaraguan chancellor, Denis Moncada, indicated that the Movement’s greatest responsibility and challenge is “to defend peace” and urged its member states to “dissuade those who want to take it away from us”, while applauding political and political consciousness. courage of the Venezuelan people against the constant attacks.
“For Venezuela our solidarity, love, affection, respect, because amidst the blockade and the terrible sanctions to which they have subjected its people, it does not lose the moral or dignity and does not surrender or sell”, he said.
The NAM, conformed by 120 countries, is a forum of political agreement that advocates the strengthening of international security, the self-determination of peoples and rejects interference. This is configured as the second largest organization in the world, after the United Nations (UN).
