The President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reported this Wednesday that the international community maintains its firm support for Venezuela following the earthquakes that occurred on June 24.
During a virtual meeting with representatives of the temporary camps established in the country, she highlighted that 170 countries expressed their solidarity and condolences during a special meeting held at the United Nations (UN) to address the humanitarian dimension of the emergency caused by the seismic events:
«Today at the United Nations was celebrated a meeting regarding the humanitarian dimension of the earthquake, the double earthquake that happened in Venezuela. And you should know that 170 countries participated; each one requested the floor to manifest their solidarity with Venezuela,» she said.
In this regard, she explained that the National Executive is currently working in constant coordination with various international organizations to address the humanitarian situation efficiently. The main objective is to transit, as quickly as possible, from the emergency phase towards a stage focused on integral care and development of the affected areas.
