Presidents of Venezuela and Colombia agreed to strengthen security at the border

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported Tuesday that he had a telephone conversation with his Colombian counterpart Juan Manuel Santos, in which they agreed to reinforce security at the border and open the crossing path in peace and tranquility.
“This was done from 6 in the morning without any problems,” said the Head of State during a meeting with the Youth of the Mission Robert Serra at Miraflores Palace.
He announced that in the coming days, representatives of the central banks of both nations will meet in Caracas to define mechanisms aimed at combating the depreciation of the bolivar and the exchange rate distortion that exists in the border area.
The Venezuelan President said that in Cucuta and Maicao the people is tired of the mafias and “they want to have a healthy economy with us”.
