Venezuela rejects human rights double standards of Chilean Chancellory

The Bolivarian Government, in a new statement, rejected the “double standard on human rights of the Chilean Chancellory,” which remain silent about true violations of the fundamental rights of entire peoples, while making a political use of the case of Venezuelan citizen Braulio Jatar, moved by interests of reactionary sectors of the Pinochetist bourgeoisie.
Read the full statement from the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs:
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratifies the content of its statement of the morning of today, and categorically rejects the double standard on human rights of the Chilean Chancellory, which makes political use of the case of a Venezuelan citizen who during the Fourth Republic served time in prison for scandalous cases of corruption and extortion, which shocked the national public opinion.
Citizen Braulio Jatar, Venezuelan, who is also domiciled in Venezuela, is being followed a criminal case of serious alleged offenses against public property and constitutional order committed within Venezuelan territory, under its exclusive jurisdiction, is on trial with strict adherence to the constitutional provisions that protect due process in one of the most guarantor systems on the continent, as it is, the Venezuelan constitutional system.
The eventual display of another nationality is irrelevant, and even less can become a credential for impunities of any kind. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile cannot twist the doctrine on human rights to interfere in matters which are of the exclusive jurisdiction of Venezuela.
It is very striking Chancellor Múñoz’s usual promotion for citizens linked to the Venezuelan right wing, who incur in serious crimes against the constitutional and legal order of Venezuela. A sad role in the defense of corruption and violence beyond their borders, in a careful unsuccessful effort to wash their faces.
The Chilean Chancellor remains deliberately silent on the real violations of the fundamental rights of entire peoples, which his biased and double standardized view do not let him see because of his political and ideological interests aligned with the imperial centers, while he groundlessly assails the Governments of countries whose democracies are guarantors of human rights.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is a Constitutional State of Law, Justice and Peace, whose sovereignty does not allow the tutelage of any other Government in the world, much less that of an official who systematically attacks the processes of unity and integration of the Great Homeland, and which remains silent against Coups d’ Etat, to enjoy the favors and winks of foreign powers.
