Prosecutor Saab denounces El Salvador for forced disappearances

The situation with Venezuelan migrants kidnapped in El Salvador due to actions by the United States and the Central American country is increasingly delicate, as the number may have increased, according to what Attorney General Tarek William Saab reported in a press conference this Monday morning.

In his statements, Tarek William Saab reported on a new shipment of 15 Venezuelan migrants deported to El Salvador’s maximum security prison, which would increase the number of Venezuelans illegally transferred to that country to more than 250.

He also stated that: «The crime against humanity is committed by a nation that is a tributary of the Rome Statute,» referring to El Salvador along with the United States.

The head of the Venezuelan Public Prosecutor’s Office believes that «We are facing a case of crimes against humanity committed by the government of El Salvador.» He also accused far-right wing political activist María Corina Machado of spearheading all the actions taken against our compatriots by the United States government…

Regarding the formal complaint of crimes against humanity in El Salvador, the Venezuelan prosecutor demanded that the country’s Criminal Court pursue a legal remedy they have in their hands, which would seriously compromise the Salvadoran government.
