Venezuela urges to take forceful actions before fires in the Amazon

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated on Wednesday his solidarity and concern about the fires that have been recorded in the Amazon for three weeks and that has reached approximately one million hectares.
Through his account on Twitter, he joined the call of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA-TCP) to hold an extraordinary meeting to evaluate and coordinate concrete decisions to quell the flames that affect the Brazilian Amazon.
This request had been made by the South American nation on August 24, however, some governments in the Amazon region that call themselves members of the self-styled Lima Group, opposed the call for ideological reasons.
