Escarrá: It is possible to establish criminal liability for deputies who have violated the Constitution

The Constitutional lawyer Hermann Escarra, said this Wednesday that the wight wing bloc in the National Parliament must abide by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and respect the decisions of public authorities.
Thus was said by Escarra during the events to mark the 17th anniversary of the Constituent National Assembly, and the 210 years of the arrival of Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda to La Vela de Coro with the First National Tricolor Flag, which were held at the National Pantheon in Caracas.
“Article 138 is immediately applicable, any usurped authority is inefficient and its acts are null. The truth is that it is some sort of nonsense to say that they incorporate, in an illegal and unconstitutional manner to the members (of Amazonas state), they are not (really) incorporated, and all acts are absolutely null and void according to the Constitution”, he said.
In this regard, he said that in his opinion, it is possible to determine individual criminal responsibility to all those parliamentarians and directives who have attacked the Magna Carta.
“I respectfully invite the deputies who are in a rebellious attitude, who have seriously disrespected the Venezuelan military family and we have tolerated that, who have disrespected the President of the Republic the way they have wanted, who have disrespected the Supreme Court of Justice, to comply with the laws, and I invoke the competence that has the Head of State to implement the Constitution”, he said.
Likewise, the lawyer referred to the dialogue between the National Government and the opposition.
“The President invites to dialogue, to the economic engines, he creates the national commission for truth, supports the initiative of the UNASUR and there are these 4 empty chairs in Miraflores that the opposition has never filled”, he said.
