Venezuela reaches Agreement to repatriate migrant compatriots from USA

The President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, announced in a statement that, within the framework of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland Plan), an agreement has been reached with the United States Special Envoy, Richard Grenell, to repatriate Venezuelan brothers and sisters in the United States.

He emphasized that the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela thus protects «the human rights of our migrant compatriots and defends and safeguards the reunification of families who have been victims of the grave consequences of the criminal sanctions against our country» and which affected the nation’s economy, which had an impact «on our people and caused the departure of our fellow citizens, hardworking and dignified people, to other destinations in search of alternatives.»

The text reaffirms that we will care for our fellow citizens «wherever they may be, and we welcome the happiness that comes to Venezuelan homes when we see their sons and daughters return to their homes, to their homeland, to a dignified future that we will all build together.»

Two weeks ago, 242 migrants repatriated from Mexico arrived on Venezuelan soil. This was the first mission of 2025, involving women, children, and adolescents, in which the national government activated the relevant protocols for the reception of Venezuelans: «Integral medical and police checks, interviews, and review of Judicial Records”
