The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, sent this Sunday an embrace and affection to the people of Falcón state for the celebration of the 493rd anniversary of the city of Santa Ana de Coro, a warm land declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity that houses in its colonial streets the history of great independence struggles and the resistance of the heroes of the Homeland against the imperial forces.
Through a message on the social networks, the Head of State expressed that its people carry in their blood that heritage of greatness and struggle for the freedom of Venezuela.
Santa Ana de Coro, better known as Coro, is the capital of Falcón state and its Miranda municipality, as well as the main cultural, historical, artistic, educational and political-administrative center of the entire Falconian region.
The city was founded on July 26, 1527 by conqueror Juan Martín de Ampíes, with the name of Santa Ana de Coro. It has a wide cultural tradition, it was the first capital of the Province of Venezuela. In its region arose precursor movements of independence and of vindication of the dominated classes in Venezuela, as well as being the cradle of the Venezuelan federalist movement in the republican era, according to history.
