The National Assembly (AN), in an ordinary session, urged the government of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, to evaluate breaking the relations with the Kingdom of Spain, after the decision of the Congress of Deputies of that country, on September 11, to request the president of his government to disown the reelection of the Venezuelan head of state.

In this sense, the president of the Parliament, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, urged the National Executive to evaluate in a peremptory time the breaking of diplomatic and commercial relations, as well as reciprocal action for the rude and interventionist proposition adopted in the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain against the Venezuelan institutionality:

More than 200 years ago we stopped being slaves of the Spanish empire, we are going head on in the defense of our independence, sovereignty and our right to be free. Venezuela is to be respected, we do not mess with anyone and we demand respect, if they do not respect us, let them read what happened in 2019,” he added.

Regarding this, the member of the Foreign Policy Commission, deputy Roy Daza, in an ordinary session of this September 17, presented the Draft Agreement in rejection of the decision of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain, to ignore the victory of the national leader, on July 28.
