The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during the broadcast of his “Con Maduro+” program, denounced that there is a conspiracy from the United States against Venezuela and Colombia:
“They want to recover Colombia again, to have a government totally hostile to [Venezuela] in Colombia, which they install after a coup d’état or something bad that they do to President Petro,” he denounced.
The head of state called on the Colombian people not to allow external interference in their country:
“I ask the Colombian people not to allow this to happen. The same conspiracy is directed from the United States, let’s not fool ourselves, behind the plans against Venezuela and now against Petro, against the left wing and progressivism of Latin America, there is the United States and there are the paramilitaries, there is the extreme right wing, what we have called the fascist international, that is the truth,» he revealed.
In this context, he urged Colombian society to defend its right to peace and democracy, emphasizing that they “do not allow them to do more harm to Colombia or to do harm to Venezuela.»
The president also referred to the scandal in Colombia related to the irregular purchase of the spy system by Iván Duque, who used «drug trafficking money» to acquire the equipment:
«A little more than eleven million dollars. And that equipment was used by Iván Duque, when he was president, to spy in Colombia, in Venezuela and far beyond,» he said.
Maduro stressed that the equipment was used to prepare «terrorist incursions against Venezuela,» describing the plot of conspiracy against the Government of Venezuela.
«These are the data that have emerged publicly in Colombia,» he said, adding that President Gustavo Petro and public opinion have denounced this situation as a scandal.
The Venezuelan dignitary accused Iván Duque, who has not denied these espionage actions, of having «his hands stained with blood» and of being involved in malicious plans.
«Pegasus and this entire espionage scandal has shown that the same people who want to kill me, the same people who want to bring violence and civil war to Venezuela, the same extreme right wing of Colombia and Venezuela, allied to destroy our country, is the same one that has the plans to harm Petro,» he said, adding that they are giving him a deadline to try to overthrow the government of Colombian President Gustavo Petro.
