The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during the Second Binational Venezuela-Colombia Tourist Exchange, indicated that the advancement of flights between Caracas-Margarita, Táchira-Bogotá and Caracas-Santa Marta-Cartagena de Indias is proposed, to increase the flow of these flights.
In this sense, he added that the increase of flights Caracas-Los Roques-Pereira-Medellín is also proposed: «That is why we must increase investment in tourism, which is an absolutely profitable investment, which recovers very quickly and is also a safe investment.»
The Head of State stressed that in the new stage of understanding, based on respect, he and his Colombian colleague, Gustavo Petro, have managed to activate tourism: «Tourism is a form of expression of the brotherhood between Venezuela and Colombia. We must inaugurate a new era between Colombia and Venezuela, of respect, love and joint work. The common project must be peace and maximum social happiness,” he added.
“For two centuries they have tried to divide us, for decades anti-Colombianism was cultivated. I have explained this to all the presidents of Colombia with whom I have worked; Who did ended anti-Colombianism? It was Commander Chavez, who taught us to love our common history,” she said.
For her part, the Minister of People’s Power for Tourism, Leticia Gomez, said that she has created to generate between 180 and 190 business meetings every day “because the idea is to increase tourism in the region, to strengthen ourselves with a high flow in the sector and thus increase multi-destination products.”
