Venezuela participates in 6th Summit of Gas Exporting Countries in Qatar

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Félix Plasencia, participated this Sunday in the 6th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Qatar:

We are proud to be part of the 6th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), an event that promotes a model of peace, freedom and development, supporting the sovereign rights of its members over their natural gas resources”, reported the Venezuelan diplomat through his account on the Twitter social network.

Likewise, Plasencia thanked the Chief Adviser Counselor of the Ministry of State for Energy, Sheikh Mishaal bin Jaber Al Thani, for the welcoming in Qatar, where he is present on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

Regarding the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, Plasencia held a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Gabriel Obiang, “with whom we agree on the need to continue deepening energy cooperation, in favor of integral development of our nations”, as detailed the Chancellor.

The Forum of Gas Exporting Countries is an organization of the main gas producing countries, established in Tehran in 2001. The objectives are: to promote the concept of mutuality of interests through dialogue between producers, intermediaries and consumers and between governments on energy-related industries; to provide a platform to study and exchange ideas and promote a stable and transparent energy market.
