Public Ministry issues new summons to Edmundo González for not attending this August 26

The Public Ministry (MP) issued another summons this Monday to the former candidate Edmundo González, after not attending this August 26 to the prosecutor’s office to give statements on crimes related to the disclosure of electoral records through a fraudulent website.

The new summons is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27, at 10:00 a.m. The new summons states: «Please appear (…) on August 27 at 10:00 a.m. in order to give an interview in relation to the facts that this office is investigating, related to the publication and maintenance of the www.resultadosconvenezuela.com website.»

It should be noted that on Friday, August 23, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reportedly reported in a press conference that González would be summoned, and on Saturday, the date and time set for Monday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. were confirmed by means of the summons.

The statements that the citizen must make are about his alleged responsibility in the crimes of: usurpation of functions, forcing of public documents, instigation to disobedience of the laws, computer crimes, criminal association and conspiracy.

Through social networks, the former candidate made it known through a video that he would not attend the summons made by the MP, which is why this second summons is being sent to him.

This is not the first time that González disobeys the laws, during the electoral dispute process carried out by the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), he also refused to appear before the highest court.
