Venezuela rejects interfering pronouncement of Government of the United Kingdom

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejected the interference of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland against the legitimate actions taken by the Venezuelan Judiciary Power.

Through a Communiqué issued by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, the Executive condemned the interference of the British Government in the case of the far-right wing spokeswoman, Lilian Tintori, involved in the case of the seizure carried out last August 30 by officials of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigation Corps, of a cargo of bills of the new monetary cone whose sum amounts to 205 million bolivars.

BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA

MINISTRY OF PEOPLE’S POWER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS

COMMUNIQUÉ

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly rejects the unfriendly pronouncement by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, regarding the legitimate actions taken by the Venezuelan Judiciary power, which, acting in accordance with the domestic legal order, denied permission to leave the national territory to a Venezuelan citizen allegedly involved in crimes closely related to money laundering.

The Bolivarian Government is concerned that, on the basis of a profound lack of knowledge of the Venezuelan reality, the British Government will openly interfere in Venezuela’s internal affairs by assuming biased positions that encourage the most abhorrent practices of internationally condemned corruption. This open interference by the British authorities is undoubtedly contaminating the historic ties of friendship that have characterized British-Venezuelan relations.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela also deeply regrets that the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland encourages the anti-democratic factors of Venezuela, who, disregarding the clamor of the Venezuelan people, have despised the constant call for dialogue promoted by the Government of President Nicolás Maduro.

Finally, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela urges the British authorities to weigh their pronouncements regarding Venezuela, to favor the traditional relations of respect that have prevailed between Caracas and London; and to deepen binational dialogue, an essential tool that will allow them to appreciate that the Venezuelan people is in peace and ready to exercise its democratic rights, encouraged by the Venezuelan Government, without any foreign interference.
