Venezuela celebrates Bicentennial of Battle of Carabobo with the ALBA-TCP Summit

In the framework of the commemoration of the 200 years of the Battle of Carabobo, Venezuela will host the 19th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA- TCP).

Under the slogan “Alliance for Life and Independence”, the high-level meeting will discuss the regional political situation and the progress of the revitalization process during 2021, in the face of the challenges of the post-pandemic stage.

ALBA created a Humanitarian Fund to build a Vaccine Bank, a Medicines Bank and established a humanitarian air bridge, through the Venezuelan state-owned airline Conviasa, for the transfer of vaccines, medical personnel, treatments, medical supplies, among other actions, for the benefit of the peoples.

In addition, the regional bloc developed an intense agenda of telematic meetings in key sectors, such as health, agriculture, education, women’s and gender issues, communication and information, together with the 21st Political Council, and an unprecedented meeting with the Thought Centers of the Global South.
