The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, attended this Monday night, at the funeral chapel to honor the distinguished revolutionary, professor, deputy, Minister of University Education and Governor of Sucre state, Luis Acuña, after his sensible physical departure:

We come to pay tribute to our friend, I say it with pride. Luis Acuña was a simple, humble man, one of great virtues and clear thinking. We met him 24 years ago (1999), and it seems like yesterday. It was precisely in the constituent process”, expressed the national president in the spaces of the Casa Amarilla (Yellow House, seat of the Chancellory), in Caracas.

He recalled that Luis Acuña and other distinguished revolutionaries who participated in the National Constituent Assembly gave birth to the current Magna Carta: “Luis Acuña was one of those founders of the Fifth Republic and co-editors of the National Constitution. He came with very clear ideas, and it was impressive to know that there were people with such forceful thinking about humanism and Bolivarianism,” he said.

The Head of State highlighted that Professor Luis Acuña was a vanguard in the National Assembly when addressing issues related to education and social sciences: “He was on the front line when it was faced the fascist coup d’etat on April 11, 2002. He always had a guiding word when counting with his presence,” he said.

Finally, Father Numa Molina affirmed that the former governor of Sucre state, Luis Acuña, left a testimony of a life dedicated to his homeland and his family: “Deep in his spirit, [Luis Acuña] perceived the good vibes that his friends transmitted to him, and the love and faith that we can transmit to each other,” he said.
