From the Parque Bolívar Convention Center at the Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base, in La Carlota, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, made reference to the import substitution system, highlighting that two of the main benefits are strengthening of the bolivar and the exchange system.

The Sectoral Vice President for Economy and Minister of People’s Power for Industries and National Production, José Félix Rivas, explained to the Head of State that the strategic and selective substitution of imports is one of the most powerful tools that will guarantee sustained growth and development, highlighting that in the midst of the blockade stage and unfair unilateral coercive measures, many businessmen, public and private, are already substituting imports: «that is why we are going to make a national registry of import substitution experiences and import substitution proposals, said the Minister.

For her part, the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted to President Maduro the importance of the registry, because it allows us to take each productive chain in Venezuela, «let’s see what national and imported component each product has and provide an industrial solution to imported components,” he explained.

All this must boost the national industry, for which we must go to an accelerated process of industrialization of Venezuela, further exploiting the industrial capabilities and potential that the Country has, which will allow imported components to be minimized to strategically replace them with national production, highlighted the Vice President.

The head of state, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized the importance of creating this system, to promote the export vocation and strengthen the country’s brand, all in a virtuous circuit.

Finally, he asked the National Assembly to expedite everything related to the New Law for the Facilitation of Non-Petroleum Exports, in order to sign the law on Thursday the 18th of this month.
