Registration and update of Electoral Registry culminates on August 23

The National Electoral Council (CNE) keeps active a special journey of registration and update of the Electoral Registry (REA) in 706 centers distributed throughout the country, as part of the schedule for the elections of December 9.

The journey that began on July 23 culminates on August 23. This way new voters can register and update data such as changes of residence. Venezuelans can approach the centers starting at 9:00 am, as reported the CNE on its website:

“Young people who turn 18 before December 9 can process their registration during this stage that ends on August 23”, it adds.

Citizens can also register their physical disabilities if they have any: “This special journey is also an opportunity to register the disabilities of the electors and the voters in order to take the provisions for an adequate attention to this sector of the population, within the framework of the electoral processes”, explains the electoral body .

On December 9, municipal elections are scheduled to take place. In this election will be chosen 4,900 councilors, with their respective alternates. Of these, 1,703 will be elected nominally, 685 by lists and 69 by indigenous communities.
