Venezuela produces 97% of the food for its internal consumption

Within the framework of the Productive Wednesday event, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted that the arduous work generated by the “reengineering for a relaunch of the Great Mission AgroVenezuela founded by Commander Chávez”, was the key to advance the positive increase in the level of food production in the country.

We rode through 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, we climbed the slope and went from 85% dependence on food imports to a truly masterful point. In Venezuela we are producing 97% of the food that the people of Venezuela takes home daily,” he stated during his visit to the La Guanota farm, a pioneering place in the breeding of dairy buffaloes located in Apure state, near the border. with Guárico state.

The Dignitary referred to the rise in the country’s economic indicators, which remain in a clear situation of progress:

How many quarters of continuous growth? 14 months. We already have 7 semesters. We already have 14 quarters (…) Here is the continuous growth, from the gap in the sanctions to the comeback of the slope, with our own work, with our own production, thinking with our own mind, working and sowing with our hands.”

In a meeting with regional authorities and producers in the area, he highlighted the creative capacity of the National Government in its efforts to advance a productive and independent economy, which definitively heals the wounds caused by the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the empire against the country:

We, in the central effort of building a productive economy, a diversified economy and producing Venezuelan food in Venezuela, especially after they had bet, with the aggression of imperialist sanctions, they bet on destroying Venezuela, a lot of damage they did to the people of Venezuela, a lot of damage they did to the Venezuelan family by hiding its food,” he recalled.

He stated that it was essential to achieve the integration of all economic sectors to consolidate the level of growth in which the South American nation now finds itself:

It’s very easy to say: How much did it cost, how much work? And why do we achieve it? Because we managed to convene, unite all Venezuelans who believe in producing, beyond political and ideological differences, without exclusion, to include, include, include.”

Likewise, he rescued the fortitude and effort with which Venezuelans have resisted the economic war to continue advancing in national development:

We Venezuelans are teaching the world a lesson, without depending on anyone, with a rebellious spirit, building the new independence, economic independence, very important. In 2020, you must remember, we were in full quarantine and we did not stop working for even a single second, serving the population in an exemplary manner.”

He recalled that it was on October 19, 1999 when Commander Chávez mentioned the buffalo cattle issue as a powerful sector in Venezuela:

In Malaysia it was the first time that the Commander spoke about the buffaloes from Apure and the need to improve the breed, to exchange experiences and then he made an unforgettable Aló President program from Elorza, on March 19, 2006, and there he also spoke about the buffalo breeding, so we are in Chávez’s path,” he pointed out.
