President Maduro announces the creation of the Great Women’s Movement of Movements “Josefa Joaquina Sánchez”

In an emotional event held at the National Pantheon, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced the formation of the Great Unitary and Diverse Women’s Movement of Movements, “Josefa Joaquina Sánchez”.

This is what he said during the commemoration of International Women’s Day from the National Pantheon, where were entered the symbolic remains of the heroines of independence Josefa Joaquina Sánchez and Eulalia Buroz.

In his statements, President Maduro highlighted the organizational power of the Venezuelan women. He highlighted the formation of more than 103,000 Base Territorial Committees, with between 7 and 10 women per committee. He expressed his commitment to strengthening this movement and predicted that it will continue to grow.

The Head of State also emphasized the diversity of the movement. He mentioned that there are various sectoral women’s movements throughout the country, such as Unamujer, indigenous women, Afro-descendants, workers, peasants, fisherwomen, professionals and artists, among other sectors:

Venezuela needs a new, great and powerful women’s movement that respects sectoral and territorial diversity,” said President Maduro.

Women’s mega assembly:

In this sense, he called on all Venezuelan women to join in the formation of this structure. He gave a period of 31 days to establish the territorial committees and census the sectoral movements, culminating in a mega assembly on April 9.

In his speech, President Maduro expressed his confidence in Venezuelan women, thanking them for their love and loyalty in difficult times.

He recalled his swearing-in as interim president 11 years ago, on March 8:

There are no coincidences, there are causalities. I was sworn in as President on Women’s Day, so my commitment is to protect them, love them, accompany them and that all the people of Venezuela are united. Long live the Venezuelan woman! “Long live the Great Mission Venezuela Women.”
