The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, demanded public apologies this Monday from the Technical Advisory Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Venezuela, a body that – he regretted – was transformed into what we call a law firm. of lawyers for terrorists, conspirators, coup plotters and assassinations of Venezuela:
“They will not return, let’s hope they rectify,” emphasized the Head of State, after last Thursday, the Bolivarian Government decided to suspend the activities of this office and consequently expel the agency’s officials, a fact that took place on Saturday, December 17. February.
“(…) Until that office respects the letter of the United Nations, does not respect the independence of sovereignty of Venezuela and does not rectify and apologize publicly, they will not return to the country,” said the Dignitary.
By ruling out that this episode with the international body implies that Venezuela breaks its commitments with the United Nations, the President asserted that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is faithfully compliant, because “if there is a country that complies with all its commitments to the United Nations Organization, it is Venezuela.”
“We are founders of the United Nations Human Rights Council. We have participated, elected by the votes of the United Nations countries, we are the promoters of the global defense of human rights,” he said.
President Maduro referred to the change that this office has been experiencing since it was created, alluding that with Michelle Bachelet at the helm as High Commissioner of the United Nations, “(…) she visited us in 2019. We talked, and I told her: We are going to install a technical and legal advisory office for the High Commissioner in Venezuela. She agreed and we signed a document, so that you are not receiving pure lies or the reports that the High Commissioner makes, whether with what appears on the internet, pure manipulations, or the news portals of the extreme right wing financed by the United States”
He said that the spirit of this office was to offer direct information, and to allow it to have “a technical advisory office and we are ingratiating ourselves. It was signed, it was installed and suddenly that office deviated from being a technical advisory office that must respect the institutions”, into an “internal espionage” office. and then it became “a law firm for terrorists, conspirators, coup plotters and assassinations of Venezuela.”
Venezuela is not for judicial colonialism:
The biased vision began to emerge and “a group of people appeared involved in an attempt to kill the President of the Republic (…) they were the first who said “we want to visit, we want to see the file, as if Venezuela were a colony applying what we have said, judicial colonialism, and Venezuela is not for judicial colonialism.”
“For this reason, the straw that broke the camel’s back was a recent case with a person involved in espionage and conspiracy work, referred to by those involved who are convicted and confessed in the case. They came out to describe the Prosecutor’s Office, the Judiciary and the country in an abusive manner, breaking the rules of the signed document. It was that technical office and some of its spokespersons who broke the terms, the principles of the signed agreement, violated the letter and spirit of the United Nations Charter. They are not there to be grading, they are not prosecutors and judges in Venezuela,” he described.
Faced with this scenario, President Maduro valued the response of Venezuelan institutions. “They have responded effectively,” recalling that “these people were given 72 hours, fortunately they all left the country on Saturday.”
He criticized how the same office omits the “case of the brutal genocide against the Palestinian people,” where Venezuela “has the leading voice.”
“They mess with Venezuela, they become a firm of conspirators, the people who wanted to assassinate me, who wanted to assassinate Minister Padrino (López), wanted to kill Freddy Bernal, they describe them as defenders of human rights,”but“ they do not condemn the assassination attempt, the evidence that has been shown, no, they come out to support the coup plotters, they go out to attack the Venezuelan State, they violate the letter that we signed, but they remain silent in the face of the murder of more than 10,000 Palestinian children ( …) They say nothing, they have completely disfigured the function they have to fulfill to ensure the human rights of humanity,” the Head of State reviewed in his denounce.
