President Maduro led transfer of command of Navy and Military Aviation commanders

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led this Tuesday the acts of transfer of command of the new Bolivarian Navy and the Bolivarian Military Aviation commanders.

The act was carried out in the Patio of Honor of the Ministry of People’s Power for Defense.

This act “is very important for the strengthening of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces in its capacity for command, for action, for the integral defense of our territory, of our people, of our beloved Venezuela”, said the Venezuelan Head of State.

The appointment of the new commanders of the Navy and Aviation had been carried out on July 7, when he appointed Admiral Aníbal José Brito Hernández as the new Commander General of the National Navy, replacing Admiral Alexander Velásquez Bastidas.

For his part, Major General Santiago Alejandro Infante Itriago was appointed on that day to replace Major General Rafael Silva Aponte as General Commander of the Bolivarian Military Aviation.

Accompanied by the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino, the Venezuelan president presided over this act in which were also promoted to Major Generals of the FANB the Generals Manuel Enrique Castillo Rengifo, Leonardo Alfredo Bello Ortega, Sidney Ramón Lázaro Partida and Danny Ferrer Sandrea.

Also, Vice Admirals William Bernardo Wessolosky Padilla, Mariany Mata Quijada and José Pestana Abreu were promoted to FANB Admirals.

This act “seals with a flourish, the month of July, the month of promotions, recognitions, graduations, of National Independence,” said Maduro, and stressed that this July 26 the FANB and the entire people of Venezuela celebrate 200 years of the meeting in Guayaquil between liberators José de San Martín and Simón Bolívar.
