Results of OCT-15 were a gigantic message to imperialism

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, demanded foreign Governments to respect the more than 11 million voters (61.14% of voters) who participated in the regional elections last October 15, in which the revolutionary forces obtained 18 of the 23 Governorships in dispute.

“I ask for respect to the 11,500,000 voters who left, 61% of voters came out to exercise their sovereignty, to vote for their preferred option,” said the Head of State during the act of swearing in the new Governor of Miranda state, Hector Rodríguez.

He denounced that the President of the USA, Donald Trump, on Wednesday returned to lash out against Venezuela when saying that “The USA suffers the socialist oppression of the Maduro regime”, according to reports from international agencies.

He assured that the victory in 18 of 23 governorships, with 54% of the total votes cast in favor of the Revolutionary forces, represents a message from the Venezuelan people to the American President and the world’s right wing.

“It was a gigantic message to Donald Trump, to the world’s right wing, that the people of Venezuela is to be respected. And the people of Venezuela will be respected indeed”, he said.

Fora Temer:

The Venezuelan leader criticized the recent statements made by Brazil’s de facto president, Michel Temer, who announced that he would lead an international audit of the electoral process.

“Does the Brazilian coup-plotting president has any morale to come and audit the Venezuelan electoral process? From Venezuela, we say: “Fora Temer” (Temer, get out), he said.

He said that from the international right wing they underestimate the people of Venezuela, and said that beyond their political differences the Venezuelans have deep democratic values.

Strength of the electoral system:

He recalled that the Venezuelan electoral system counts with audits before, during and after the electoral event.

“It’s an electoral system that makes a hot audit to a 54% of the tables with the results right there, at the very time they are occurring. If you vote in the electoral center of your corresponding school, at night you can go and see the impression of the minutes and verify each vote with the minutes and then sign that the electoral process at that table was transparent, fair and free”, he detailed

He compared the Venezuelan electoral process to that of Colombia, where no previous audits are being carried out, nor during the electoral process, and only 5% of the results are audited at the end. In the US, he explained, there is no prior or subsequent audit of the results.

“It is Venezuela that has the most monitored, complete and most perfect automated electoral process in the world”, he said.
