President Maduro: 2018 was one of the most difficult years, almost 200,000 % inflation and the country lost 99% of income because of surnames

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, assured that 2018 was the most damaging year for the Venezuelan economy, as a result of the coercive measures imposed from the United States:

“The most difficult, most destructive year of the sanctions missiles was 2018, brutal, almost 200,000% inflation, we lost 99% of the country’s income,” he highlighted.

The Head of State stressed that in this scenario, the National Government configured the recovery plan in the face of the economic war and called on the people to resist. But the imperial plans did not stop there:

2019 came with a little gift from imperialism, Juan Guaidó, and it came with a whole package, sabotage of the oil industry, sabotage of the electricity industry, psychological warfare, conspiracies, plots, coup attempts,” he explained.

In this context, the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, recounted what the electric attack meant for the Venezuelan people:

(It was) Very hard, it was a magnetic attack, where all the governors that control the Guri turbines were paralyzed at the same moment, which already showed that we were facing an attack. It was a blow to the heart of the country because that is the service that governs everything, but the Venezuelan people once again gave a great lesson,” she said during the seventh episode of the Maduro Podcast.
