The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, in a press conference stressed that the payment of tributes (taxes) must be done I nBolivars, this related to the Organic Law of Coordination and Harmonization of Tax Powers of States and Municipalities, which was passed this Tuesday, July 18.
“The payment of taxes is (to be made) in (bolívars), the official circulation currency of our country. This Law allows us to protect the common citizen and the merchant”, he said.
In addition, Rodríguez added that this Law “allows us to protect the common citizen and the merchant. We propose a Law to bring order, so that there is a harmonious development of the Tax Powers”.
“We are deeply satisfied because this Law has been a cry of many; businessmen, merchants, users, to bring order to the issue of Tax Powers”, he said.
In this sense, the president of the AN highlighted that they met with all the governor men and women, “to maintain strict respect for the tax powers that these figures have.”
He stressed that “this tax harmonization is necessary to protect the smallest municipalities. This allows us to order, reduce costs and payments for services, commerce, and products”.
“Order was established, procedures were simplified and costs for citizens are reduced. We have oriented the deputies so that they go to their states to talk and meet with businessmen, entrepreneurs, communes”, said Rodríguez.

He alleged that was created a harmonization commission where there are representatives of the governors and mayors to discuss all the elements related to those taxes that are exempt from the 3% rate:
“Since the procedures are simplified, the experience that we have is that collection increases because corruption decreases, and the parallel mayoralties are over, and thus the citizen has more mechanisms to defend himself,” he indicated while adding that “the mayoralties and governorships will have 90 days of temporary disposition to adapt their orders and laws to said Organic Law.”
