The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela issued a statement on Monday in which it expresses its rejection of the maneuvers of the so-called Triple Alliance (Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil) whose Governments pretend to sell “the infamous species on the failure of Venezuela in commitments in the Protocol of Accession to Mercosur”, ignoring its principles and standards.

BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA
MINISTRY OF PEOPLE’S POWER FOR
FOREIGN AFFAIRS
COMMUNIQUÉ
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the maneuvers and anti-juridical falseness of the Governments of Argentina, Paraguay and interim of Brazil, the Triple Alliance, which seek to sell the infamous species on the failure of Venezuela to the commitments in the Protocol of Accession to Mercosur signed on July 4, 2006 and which entered into force just four years ago.
Venezuela, in this short time, has not only incorporated much of the normative compendium of MERCOSUR to its bosom, but has even matched, and in most cases exceeded, other States Parties, who, being from the beginning within the foundation of MERCOSUR, have not internalized all its normative guidelines. Venezuela has been distinguished in the pairing process to Mercosur.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounces to the international community the persistence of these Governments on violating the treaties establishing MERCOSUR, making prevail their neoliberal policies and ideological preferences over the genuine interests of the peoples and their integration processes.
Officials of this reedited Triple Alliance, characterized by coup plotting, extremism and intolerance, try to move their actions into MERCOSUR, ignoring its principles, disrespecting its rules and violating the right to the development of peoples that make up this mechanism of productive and trade integration.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in full exercise of the Pro-Tempore Presidency of MERCOSUR, will defend this block against the blows on its institutions undertaken by their historic enemies, which badly place MERCOSUR in its international relations and threaten its very existence.
