Paid tribute to Jorge Rodríguez (father) 46 years after his murder

A heartfelt tribute was offered this July 25 before the mortal remains of Jorge Rodríguez (father) which rest in the General Cemetery of the South, located in the Venezuelan capital.

In a statement to the media, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, recalled the legacy that her father planted in her heart and her family:

He is present, future and we are nourished by his spirit, which is invincible and indestructible. Until his last breath of life he proved to be a true, brave revolutionary!, she said accompanied by his brother, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez.

She stressed that “the murder of Jorge Rodríguez (father) raised indignation in all layers of Venezuelan society, in all the people of Venezuela a wave of indignation was raised in the face of the atrocious murder”.

This Saturday, July 25, marks the 46th anniversary of the assassination of revolutionary Jorge Rodríguez (father), after being tortured by security forces from the government of then Adeco(*) President, Carlos Andrés Pérez.

(*): Adeco: Term meaning something or someone belonging to the Right-Wing Acción Democrática (Democratic Action) political party.
