The General Commander of the Bolivarian National Guard, Nestor Reverol, described as an act of «extreme cowardice» the attacks uttered by the Chairman of the National Assembly, Henry Ramos Allup, against officials of this component featured in the Simon Bolivar International Airport who were attacked in the exercise of their functions.
«Accusing our military officers of being smugglers and cocaine snorters is an act of extreme cowardice, especially when his glass roof is up to public light. These officials that you disrespected are the same ones who have been defending and serving the people for 79 years, they are the same who every day go out to the streets not knowing whether they will return to their homes (…) »
On behalf of the 75,000 sentinels of the Homeland, he demanded respect and raised his voice in protest against the actions of hate directed by this «stubborn and unbalanced» character, circumstantially installed in the National Assembly, whose systematic attacks are aimed at violating the stability of the nation.
Addressing to whom, in his opinion, ignores the new reality of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Reverol «reminded him that the gringo manuals disappeared from the military academies (…) that’s why we are and will be Chavistas, and we will keep his legacy as a philosophical, political and military doctrine».
