The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Wednesday a series of changes in the ministerial cabinet, a restructuring that reinforces the presence of Venezuelan leaders in four of the government’s ministerial portfolios.
During his participation in a new Productive Wednesday journey, dedicated to the Entrepreneurial Engine, he stressed that the new ministers will have the responsibility of reinforcing the march of the 3R.NETS in each of their ministries.
The first of them is Dr. Magaly Gutiérrez Viña, the new Minister of People’s Power for Health, whom she asked to build alliances with doctors and nurses “to launch this new stage and give special attention to the Barrio Adentro 100% Health Mission”.
In this sense, he thanked Dr. Carlos Alvarado, outgoing minister, for his commitment, effort, sacrifice and for «the great capacity he demonstrated in these two years of pandemic, he continues to head the rectory of the University of Sciences of Health, Hugo Chávez”, indicated the Head of State.
Similarly, he appointed Diva Guzmán, leader of the working class, as Minister of People’s Power for Women and Gender Equality:
“Diva, we must attend to the Humanized Childbirth Plan as a priority, we must attend to the support plan for women who are breastfeeding their children, the Breastfeeding Plan, (must) attend to the Plan and the Fight Against Gender Violence, (must) attend to the Women’s Economy Support Plan, a special entrepreneurship plan for Women, we are going to launch a special plan to go looking for women in their communities to support them. Diva, it’s up to you to put the seal of the working class, the seal of the main class in the construction of the new society, of socialism”, exhorted President Maduro.
He also appointed Clara Josefina Vidal as Minister of People’s Power for Indigenous Peoples: «We have to apply the 3R.NETS thoroughly to the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples, I trust you, your strength, your honesty, your morals, your spirituality and your indigenous worldview”.
Finally, he announced the appointment of Olga Luisa Figueroa as Minister of People’s Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, «I entrust to you the protein of the sea, of the rivers and of aquaculture for the Venezuelan homes, there are 7 million homes to which the protein from the sea, the river and aquaculture must come to”, he instructed the incoming Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
«I trust you women, Magaly Gutiérrez, Diva Guzmán, Clara Josefina and Olga Luisa Figueroa, the four new ministers of the Bolivarian Government, be welcome, the strength of women at the head of our country», stressed the National President.
Profile of the new ministers:
Clara Vidal has a degree in Education and was Minister of Indigenous Peoples in 2016. She is a native of Cumaná and a member of the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPsuv), she had served as Deputy Minister for Training, Intercultural Education and Ancestral Knowledge in 2014.
Olga Luisa Figueroa is a militant of the Revolution, Secretary of the PSUV-La Guaira and Vice Minister of Fisheries.
Magaly Gutiérrez Viña served as president of the Board of Directors of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS), before that she had been serving as president of the National Institute of Social Services (Inass) and head of the Great Mission in Amor Mayor Venezuela (In A Greater Love Mission for the Elders).
Diva Guzmán served as head of the Campaign Command for the Alliances of Nicolás Maduro Guerra and a member of the National Electoral Commission of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.
