CICPC shows the other side of scientific research: Expo Criminalistics 2018

This Thursday was inaugurated at the Poliedro of Caracas the fifth edition of the Expo Criminalistics 2018, an event that shows the technological advances put at the service of scientific investigations for the clarification of criminal acts.

The inauguration was in charge of the Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Nestor Reverol, who was accompanied by the general director of the Corps of Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations (CICPC), Commissioner Douglas Rico.

In the spaces of the Poliedro de Caracas have been arranged 73 stands with more than 44 exhibitors from different areas and topics of scientific research. The event will involve the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command, and the Special Action Force (FAES) of the Bolivarian National Police corps.

The assistants to Expo Criminalistics will be able to know in detail the Integrated Ballistic Identification System (IBIS), one of the few in operation in the region, of the Division of Ballistics of CICPC; This system allows a topographic study of the bullet and the shell to be correlated in a database.

Reverol congratulated the men and women who make up this body of research, on its anniversary, after the constitutional law was passed in 2001, replacing the former Judicial Technical Police (PTJ).

The Minister reiterated the invitation to the population to visit the Expo Criminalistics, an event that opens its doors this November 29 until December 2, from 10:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the afternoon.
