Maduro: Through Mision Vivienda, we will replace homes lost due to the rains

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, assured this Thursday that the Revolutionary Government will replace, through the Gran Misión Vivienda Venezuela (Great Mission Housing Venezuela – GMVV), the houses affected by the recent rains registered in different regions of the country:

This project was born as a social program to guarantee the homes of the people, it was born from a natural disaster to respond to the people in 2010. Today it is also willing to replace the homes of everything that has been lost due to the rains. Now it has also hit hard Miranda and La Guaira states and we must continue advancing,” he said.

During his participation in the delivery of the 4,200,00th home, in Valles del Tuy in Miranda state, the Head of State assured that the delivery of homes throughout the country will continue, towards the milestone of 5 million homes for the protection of the Venezuelan family.

He recalled that this week they had to evict, on the 23 de Enero parish in Caracas, a sector “where 20 houses came down, I tell the Venezuelan family that the material things get replenished, the important thing is life”

In this sense, he stressed that the priority at this time is to serve the families of Las Tejerías, in Aragua state:

More than 300 families have total loss of their houses. We are making the risk map and perhaps there are 378 homes that will be declared a total loss, because there is a channel that left traces and no structure can be there. We are obliged to guarantee decent housing for families who have lost everything”, he emphasized.

In fact, he announced that of the 120 housing units delivered this Thursday, eight correspond to families from Las Tejerías.

The same thing I say to the people of Chichiriviche de la Costa, those 20 (lost) homes, rest assured that those homes will be recovered,” he said.

He stressed that the GMVV must reinvent itself and plan ahead of the tragedies and the impact that climate change has been generating.
